With BaseCamp and a BirdsEye Satellite Imagery subscription, you can transfer an unlimited amount of satellite images to your outdoor or fitness device and seamlessly integrate those images into your maps to get a true representation of your surroundings. It makes it easy to scout campsites, sources of water, potential hazards and more. If you prefer raster topographic maps, you can also download BirdsEye Select maps and pay only for the data you download.
Simply unpack a mapsource update (see links above), run MAIN.msi and then rename mapsource.exe to something else. e.g. mapsource_6.13.6.exe and then copy it into your main Garmin Mapsource installation folder (usually c:/garmin). Now you can decide which of the two versions you want to use.

Here are maps in Garmin image file format people have created from OSM data. Sites are listed by continent, then by country alphabetically, then by suspected usefulness (eg. sites which cover a whole continent and are updated regularly are listed first.) Maps offered worldwide or for a continent are often offering country downloads - hence they are only listed once and not for each region again. As OpenStreetMap is changing fast - only maps updated during the last 6 month should be listed. Permanently Dead links - please remove the entry.

This .ZIP format of map download contains all the files necessary to install our trail maps to your GPS using either a Windows PC or Macintosh computer. You download a single .ZIP format file from our web server, un-ZIP the compressed file to extract the required files, and then copy them to the correct folders on your GPS. A pre-loaded micro-sd card has the same file structure as the ZIP file. Updating Map files is the same procedure as installing them the first time, except that doing a map update replaces the older files with newer files.
*Note 2: There are bugs in version 4.7 of Garmin BaseCamp/MapInstall the prevent the download of any supplemental maps. See this page for a description and how to revert back to an older working version. 2ff7e9595c
